How I Felt About Visiting London in the End
London was different than I expected: better in many, worse in some. Looking back, I don't think London would have had as much of an impact on me, nor would I have learned as much as I did if I hadn't gone with a study abroad group. This trip to London was unlike any regular vacation in that I was forced to go to a lot of locations I wouldn't have chosen if I were to plan the trip for myself--and I'm glad. I never thought I would climb 365 steps, but I saw some views I doubt I could ever forget. Normally, I would just breeze through a church, not understanding many of the symbolic materials around me, but with the guides provided I learned an astounding amount of information. Could I live in London? Probably. Would I live in London? No. Would I visit again? Absolutely. I learned more about a different culture in the nine days we were in London than I could ever have in a classroom. This trip just affirmed my love of travel, and I would love to do another Study Abroad in the future. As I'll be going to Belize during spring break, I am ecstatic to go on another international trip, and I cannot wait to take back all the skills and newfound independence that I gained while in London. I definitely believe that one day I will meet my goal to travel to as many countries as my age.
